About Christof Kurzmann

Christof Kurzmann, born in Vienna, Austria, presently lives in Buenos Aires. He is a musician that works between electropop, improvisation and “new music.” Altough sometimes Kurzmann works as a soloist, he prefers to be part of a collective or a working group.

He has played concerts on all continents except Australia and worked as an organizer of various events in the music and media genre. Kurzmann owns the small independent label Charhizma, which at the moment only exists as a platform to present musicians from around the world in various live settings.

Kurzmann is a conscience objector of military and civil service, and he is still is politically active and/or interested. He likes to travel, go to movies and concerts, and read.

Bands he has been a part of includes: The Magic I.D., El Infierno Musical, Qmince, Made To Break, and the trio Carrasco/Kaplan/Kurzmann. His most recent musical partners include: Toto Alvarez, Nicole Bindler, Martin Brandlmayr, John Butcher, Eden Carrasco, George Cremasci, Werner Dafeldecker, Tim Daisy, Kai Fagashunski, Bernhard Fleischmann, Michaela Grill, Devin Hoff, Sofia Jernberg, Margareth Kammerer, Leonel Kaplan, Fernando Perales, Eva Reiter, Marina Rosenfeld, Michael Thieke, Clayton Thomas, and Ken Vandermark.
